Cricket Espana Confirms Desert Springs Receives ICC Accreditation for One Day Internationals (ODI)
2nd April, 2021 – Cricket Espana, a member of the International Cricket Council dedicated to promoting cricket among Spain’s sporting population, announced today that the Desert Springs Resort, an award-winning luxury venue in Almeria, Andalucia, south-east Spain, has received ICC ODI accreditation, clearing the way for the world’s top international teams to play official One Day International tournaments at the complex.
The ICC, or International Cricket Council, ODI accreditation determines that a venue meets certain playing, space, lighting and safety standards to qualify to host T20i matches or One Day Internationals. Desert Springs has met these high standards.

The Desert Springs Cricket Academy, the umbrella programme for the resort’s cricket offerings includes; an international size world-class grass match ground constructed to ECB standards and specifications, complimented by a marquee pavilion, sightscreens, scoreboard and associated facilities with an eighteen (18) wicket square, an academy training ground with twenty-four grass practice wickets, an artificial wicket, along with requisite training equipment. Open all year-round, Desert Springs Resort provides an outstanding facility to both play and practice cricket.
Accommodation and catering are also provided on the resort.
