Crusaders Egan Dantis all-round heroics Stun Vikings by 1 wicket.

Egan Dantis and Jody put on 32 runs for the last wicket to beat Costa Vikings after Nasir dar’s stellar show with the ball.

On a beautiful Sunday morning Vikings won the toss and elected to bat first on a newly prepared grass pitch at cartama oval. Vikings lost Nushan Alwis and Kris in the first over of the match. Andrew ward with Nasir Dar steadied the innings and put up 60 runs for the 3rd wicket before Nasir Dar was caught at short midwicket mistiming a short ball.

Andrew Ward was rock solid in the middle timing the ball beautifully. Kai Manson looked in good touch and looked for a big one. Andrew was adjudged lbw for 43 after he missed a straight one. The pair added 46 runs for the 4th wicket. Kai Manson was dismissed while trying to hit Egan over the square leg boundary. Vikings lost last 4 wickets for 7 runs. Egan Dantis was the chief destroyer with 4-29 off his 6 overs. Costa Vikings ended up scoring 153 all-out off 27.4 overs.


Crusaders Openers started with a bang as Amit Nayyar raced to 24 off 17 balls. Once both the openers were dismissed, Jesper Hansen and Phill Nuttall batted out the initial tough period scoring 6 runs per over. Phill Nuttall was stumped off the last ball before drinks.

Crusaders looked in a good position after 15 overs. After the drinks break Nasir Dar ripped through crusaders Innings dismissing Jesper Hansen with a perfect off-cutter. Crusaders Slumped from 94-3 to 100-8. Nasir Dar took 4-5 in that period. Needing 54 off 10 overs with 2 wickets in hand, Egan Dantis took them closer to the target before Peter Gething was dismissed by Nasir Dar. Crusaders needed 32 runs with one wicket in hand and Egan Dantis chased down the target in 25.3 overs.


Egan Steven Dantis was Adjudged Player of the Match for his all-around performance.
