SAN FULGENCIO FUN DAY
On Sat 29th May San Fulgencio Cricket Club held its 2nd annual funday on the market place, La Marina.
After a very rainy Friday, the sun came out and so did the people.
It all started at 10am with a carboot sale, there were lots of stalls including a cake stall, bottle tombola, book stall, kids tombola, Mix bar and a big raffle with great prizes, a big thank you to all who donated.
Then came the very impressive Classic cars, a big thank you to them, closely followed by the Euro Bikers, what a way to start the day. We were also very pleased to have the TKO roadshow with us, which gave the whole day a party atmosphere.
We were entertained by Cindy Van Esperen and her Zumba dancers, the crooning tones of Charlie Royal, the excellent Totally Dance troup and Sam Jones´s beautiful vocals.
Then it was the turn of the cricket club who put on a high scoring entertaining adults v kids match. As one of the adults playing I hang my head in shame to report that the kids whupped us! Man of the Match has to go to Adam Alger who put on 50 runs in just over 3 overs. His Dad Jon tried to recover the game for us with some impressive batting but it was not to be, well done kids!
After such a gruelling game we were rewarded with live music provided by Phoenix productions, The duo Scandal, Patti Ross, internationaly renowned entertainer and Paul Schrager, versatile vocalist, thanks guys, a great way to end the day.
The younger kids were kept entertained with bouncy castles, the gladiator challenge and foam pits.
San Fulgencio would like to say a massive thankyou to all who helped, donated, attended, supported and enjoyed!
All in all it was a very succesfull and enjoyable day, lets hope next year will be even bigger and better.
