Last weekend ten coaches spent the weekend in La Manga completing their ICC Europe Level Two Coaching qualification under the tutelege of Dave Gelling from Hampshire County Cricket Club.
The participants came from five different clubs from the ECCL region and are already heavily involved in coaching within their clubs and community.
Coach Coordinator Manny Fernadez did a lot of work behind the scenes setting up the course, the first ever at this level, to be run in Spain.
La Manga trio Hugh James, George Wambeek and Tom Vine, Levante all rounder Scott Burchell, Torrevieja stalwart Jon Algar, Kings College teacher Martin Harbour and Madrid players Adam Langhans, Warren Meredith and Manny Fernadez.
Director of Cricket and qualified Level Two Coach Neil Brook was also on hand to ensure the weekend ran smoothly. Many thanks to all involved in the course, and giving their time and effort to developing grass roots cricket in Spain.
Feedback from the course …
“I’m back home from La Manga safe and sound after a great weekend and getting my level 2 coaching certificate. Big thanks to Cricket Espana for making this possible, now onwards and upwards, and great to be surrounded by other great friends and coaches. Also a big thanks to David from ICC/ECB for making everything look and sound so easy. Amunt Valencia.”
