Cricket España now have to tutor assesors that can deliver ICC Level One Coaching Courses in Spain and throughout Europe. Neil Brook and Andy McCulloch signed off on the final part of their assesments with a face to face session supervised by ICC Master Tutor Dave Gelling.
The face to face assessment took place at Newton College and in the process six teachers received their Level One certificates, with three of the candidates being Spanish.
Neil Brook on completing the course commented “This weekend Cricket España entered a new phase of their schools development programme, by intoducing in house ICC Level One coaching courses for teachers, This will expand our continued growth and development within schools in Spain”
Andy McCulloch added “The first face to face ICC Level One course delivered in Spain by our own tutors was an outstanding success” The key to developing cricket in any country is regular access to the sport for juniors. By ensuring teachers are trained as coaches and delivering cricket in schools, they will grow the game with continued support from Cricket Espana”
Any Cricket España region that is interested in doing a ICC Level One course should contact Cricket España for further details. A minimum of six to a maximum of twelve candidates are required.
