On most Thursday’s over the last two months Cricket España have delivered an introduction to cricket programme to approximately 90 children at the CEIP Port de Xabia school.
The sessions comprised of six different classes of six to nine year olds in groups of 15-20 kids and concentrated on the ICC Criiio program to give the boys and girls their first ever cricket experience.
Ana Catala of the school commented “The students of the first cycle (6-7-8 years old) of the CEIP Port de Xabia have had John and Anita as volunteers, to carry out some crickert sessions in our education centre (within the Criiio España program). It has been a really satisfying experience. The children have learned the basic rules of this sport, and at the same time they have acquired new vocabulary in English, since all the sessions were carried out in English.As closing of the programme we wnt to the “Les Mesquides” soccer field to carry out the last session which they enjoyed a lot and had a good time”
Cricket España plan to go to the school periodically to promote cricket in the school and help the students with their English.
