VALENCIA GREEN SHOW EARLY SEASON PROMISE

Valencia Green showed early season promise with a convincing victory over the home team Albox.

Albox won the toss and elected to bat in what was also there first game of the season. Unfortunately, it proved to be the wrong decision as the home side were bowled out for 131 with only Langsford offering any positive resistance.

In reply Valencia Green made light work of the total they were chasing and the passed the winning line just one ball shy of 13 overs. Asad was particuliarly menacing towards the Albox bowling attack scoring 49 quick runs.

Sadly, Albox only fielded 8 players and Valencia had no designated scorer so the teams lost minus 6 points and minus 2 points respectively. With the points adjustment for these infringements Green scored a total of 18 points and the unfortunate Albox went home on minus 3 points.

The other two games scheduled for La Manga fell victim of the fact that neither the Intellectuals or Valencia could muster up a side to fulfill their respective fixtures.

The Intellectuals game was called off Thursday so in accordance with league rules San Fulgencio receive 17 points for a victory and the Intelletuals are deducted 10 points for not completing the fixture.

Valencia had the same problem raising players so La Manga are awarded 17 points and Valencia receive minus 10 points for the infringement.
