Once the season ends in the UK there is still plenty of cricket being played in Spain. Two of the most prestigious tournaments of the year take place in September and October at La Manga Resort.
The first is the La Manga Cricket Club Twenty/Twenty Charity tournament that takes place between the 25th – 29th of September. This years associated charity will be the same as in previous years, the cancer charity MABS, and packages for the event start at around 250 euros per person. The second charity event to take place at La Manga this year is the 7th Lords Taverners Charity event from the 9th-13th October. The tournament produces a high standard of cricket and is hosted by the former Middlesex and England skipper Mike Gatting. The winners of the tournament usually get to play a Taverners side on the final day which in the past as included Steve Kirby, Sam Billings and Gus Mackay amongst others.
