PREVIEW OF CODGERS V COLTS GAME BY IAN HIGGINS
Today sees the return of the much anticipated clash between the new look Colts and the ever ageing Codgers, with previous matches remaining tight in these head to head match ups….
With some last minute team amendments we can now see how the two teams are to line up.
Coach Sameer’s Colts will be missing two all-rounders in Harry Scott and Louis Bruce but the arrival of new boy Maanav available since attaining his work permit mean he can feature and the recent performances of the in form Samarth B and Kyle dP have captured the imagination for this encounter and will be playing tough to help the colts gain a win today.
Another boost to the colts side is the return of fast bowler Jaime Riley with Marcus lake and the two Purdy brothers hopeful of a start as both bring a good level of consistency to this team. It has to be said the colts look a lively outfit and they will certainly be a force to be reckoned with. However, with a combined age of around 600 the Codgers are no walk over, and with late signings in the form of Richard Lake and Anthony Salmon they have strengthened their batting line up.
These two will compliment well the experience of the old guard bowling attack with Bruce R, Dom D and Jeremy K all regular wicket takers, so its sure to be a close one. Both teams have been practicing hard in the nets thanks to club coach Sameer so its a tough call at this stage as to who is favoured out of the two teams. Talk around the pavilion is that the Colts are the favourites, but this could simply go down to who wants it more.
