Cataluyna Tigers won an incredibly close contest with Cataluyna CC to win this seasons Cataluyna championship and ensure they will represent the region in the National Finals at Sporting Alfas Cricket Club in late November.
Cataluyna Tigers had won all four games in the group stages before accounting for Barcelona CC in the Super 8 series and Badalona Shaheen in the semi finals to make the final.
Cataluyna CC had also won aall four group games before disposing of United CC and Friends in the knock out stages.
With both teams unbeaten it always looked like being a close affair and so it proved. Cataluyna Tigers batted first and were all out for 148 in the 22nd over of a 25 over contest.
Cataluyna looked on course to chase down the total but were hindered by rain delays. Despite batting all their overs they ended up being just 3 runs shy of the Tigers total.
The Tigers will join St George of Lanzarote, and the yet to be determined ECCL Champions on the 25th, 26th and 27th November to play in a round robin tournament to determine the National Champions of Spain.
