The latest game in the Cataluyna Junior League was looking increasingly more on paper like being the deciding contest for the runners-up spot and it was Sant Andreu who squeezed home from Badalona Shaheen by a narrow margin
Sant Andreu batted first and hit a total of 136 for 7 from their twenty over allocation. A fine 40 from Hamad and a nice supporting role from Yuvraj with 22 runs were the main contributions to the competitive Sant Andreu score. For Shaheen Bilawal bowled well taking three wickets for 21 runs.
Shaheen kept pace with the required run rate from the off but kept losing cheap wickets at crucial times. A fine 49 from opener Mustafa kept the result in doubt but Shaheen just fell short by five runs despite a final flurry from Mati who hit 14 from as many balls.
The victory for Sant Andreu confirms the runners up spot for Andreu with Shaheen still in contention with Girona Warriors to finish their season in third place.
