The Cataluyna Junior League got under way this weekend with a confrontation between Badalona Shaheen and Cataluyna.
The Cataluyna Juniors won the toss and put Shaheen into bat. The Shaheen batsmen struggled early on but found their form during the middle of the innings were Umair hit a fine half century batting at number seven. The Shaheen innings finally ended with a score of 152 for 8 off their 20 overs. Asim took three wickets for 22 runs from his four overs.
The Cataluyna youngsters were always in the game whilst batting but finally fell 28 runs shy of the required total. Most of the batsmen got starts but could not go on and get that definitive score. M Ali top scored with 22 whilst Bilawal was the stand out bowler taking six wickets for just 19 runs.
The other two clubs in the four team competition are Sant Andreu and Friends XI.
Badalona Shaheen 152 for 8 beat Cataluyna CC 124 all out.
