CATALUYNA CC V MINHAJ (LEAGUE)

The top of the table clash between Cataluyna and Minhaj in Group A at the Videres ground saw Cataluyna win an exciting encounter by just 23 runs. 

Batting first Cataluyna hit 162 with Kashif top scoring with a fine 40. Zakuallah was the pick of the bowlers for Minhaj with a great spell of bowling that yielded four wickets for just 26 runs.

In reply, Minhaj started well with Mubhassar and Shahzad but lost precious wickets for very few runs further down the batting order. Amir, with 32, kept Minhaj in the game deep into their innings but they finally ran out of overs and fell short of their required target.

Vinod, with three wickets for just 22 runs was the pick of the Cataluyna bowling attack. Minhaj remain at the top of the table with 20 points from three games but Cataluyna have significantly closed the gap to just five points with a game in hand.

Vic Stallions got a walkover in the other Group A game as the Bangladesh Kings failed to turn up due to transport problems.

Cataluyna 162 for 9 beat Minhaj 139 for 8 by 23 runs.
