Batting ruled the day in the Division Two clash between La Manga and Intellectuals as both teams played out a draw in the sunshine at the Murcia resort.
Intellectuals batted first and the local spectators were entertained by a scintillating innings by Hasham who scored 143 not out as the visitors piled on the runs to finish on 291 for 4 before declaring.
In reply the home side batted out the game comfortably for the draw with the in form Gopi Singh hitting 70 and opener Kevin Buckley remaining 45 not out at the close of play.
Ten points for unbeaten La Manga whilst the improving Intellectuals netted eleven points. After a relatively poor start to the season the Alicante based side are now looking a stronger proposition and are begining to force theirselves into the reckoning as the Division Two race begins to hot up.
Next week sees Levante travel to La Manga for the first time and by next Sunday night we should have a better idea who will be favourites to lift the title.
