ALCORCON TAME INTELLECTUALS DESPITE A FEW SCARES
Intellectuals battled gamely against Alcorcon but a batting collapse by the Alicante based team cost them dear at the end.
Batting first Alcorcon made the relatively low total of 204 all out in their innings.Awan top scored for the Madrid team with 77 runs and the Intellectuals had some fine bowling performances, namely Danny Butcher (3-29) and Faulkner (1-19)
Intellectuals started brightly and were 35 for 1 and looking comfortable when the rot began to set in. With the further loss several runs later of opener Tim Stanford (35) the Intellectuals innings catapulted into freefall and they were finally all out for a meagre 93 runs, giving Alcorcon a 111 run victory.
Alcorcon are now 8 out of 8 in league games and they will play runners up Sporting Alfas 2 in the Development league final on October 31st at La Manga club.
