BARCELONA CLAIM TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH
The eagerly awaited top of the table clash between Barcelona and Olot went the way of Barcelona to give them second place in Division 2, and leave Olot rueing what could have been.
Barcelona batted first and they were deeply dependent on the 93 runs of Mirza for the formidable total of 170 runs that they set Olot. As the second top score was extras for Barcelona in puts into perspective just how important Mirza´s innings was. Parminder was a great spell to return figures of 4 for 16 for Olot.
In reply, Olot made 126 to fail in the run chase by 44 runs. Rajwinder and Sunny put up a spirited fight for Olot, scoring 31 and 37 respectively, butwhen they both fell in the space of 8 runs, the writing was on the wall for the regional side.
Barcelona took the points and no have sole claim to second position, although the chances of overturning Minhaj, and their 100% record look slim with only a few games remaining for each team.
