Badalona Shaheen got the victory they required to claim the Catalunya Junior League title by beating Friends XI this weekend at the University Campus in Barcelona.
Winning the toss and batting first Shaheen made 129 all out. They were indebted to opener Faisal who scored 42 of the Badalona total. For Friends XI Mesum took four wickets and Hamza chipped in with a further three wickets.
In reply, Friends XI struggled and they were all out for 84. Two Friends players Usman and Rehman reached double figures but the rest of the team failed to make a batting impact. Adeel was a major player in the Badalona bowling attack taking three wickets for eight runs.
The 45 run success gave Shaheen five wins from six games and means that the three other clubs are unable to catch their points total of 50 points. Congratulations go to Badalona Shaheen on a successful season and becoming worthy winners of the Junior League in Cataluyna.
