Badalona Shaheen and Friends XI produced an exciting game of cricket in the latest Junior League contest in Barcelona, with the result in doubt until the finishing ball.
Batting first Shaheen notched up a score of 129 all out from their twenty overs. Four of the batsmen reached double figures but the star performance came from Tanveer, who took four wickets for the cost of just 11 runs.
In reply, Friends looked on course to register the win with a formidable fourth wicket partnerrship of 66 between Nabeel and Ali but the late middle order contributed very little once this pair had departed.
Friends finally ended up on 124 for 8, just five runs shy of victory. Shaheen’s victory was in no small part to Adeel who took four wickets for just 12 runs to make level on points with their opponents in prime position at the top of the league after five matches.
Badalona Shaheen 129 all out beat Friends XI 124 for 8 by 5 runs.
