Andalucia Cup T10 Festival
An incredible day of cricket at the GOval in Granada as Granada CC hosted the inaugural Andalucía T10 Cup.
4 teams comprising Costa Del Sol, Seville and 2 Granada teams (Dingo’s and Lions) produced some competitive nail-biting cricket with some close finishes.
Game one; Dingo’s fell just short of Lion’s 101, great knocks by Sam Piper and Nico for their respective teams
Game two; CDS dominated Seville with contributions form Avinash and Manav with bat and ball
Game three; Amir got Seville to a good total before Sam Piper made light work with some superb ball striking wining the game off the last ball!
Game four saw the Dingo’s post a low total easily knocked off by CDS
Game five, Colin from Seville carried his bat and the Dingo’s failed to get over the line despite a positive start, special mention to Edwin for taking 2 wickets on his cricket playing debut and wining the player of the tournament in the process!
The final saw an all-round bating performance from CDS to reach 134 off their 10, an electric innings from Richie Abbot, the finest seen at the Goval to date wasn’t enough to get the Lion’s home and CDS took the trophy.
Congratulation to all involved, thanks to caterers, scorers, bar staff and all the hard work from Richie Abbott and Andy Torres to put the event on and most of all to the CDS and Seville teams for making the effort to come and make Granada’s first cricket tournament such a special one.
