Alicante Stars and Torrevieja squared a two match T-Twenty series this weekend at the Torrevieja Cricket Ground.
Match one proved to be an close fought victory for the Stars in a low scoring game. Torrevieja batted first and made 106 for 5. Opener Kieran Wood hit 29 and Maina added 32 in the middle of the innings for the hosts, whilst Nadeem bowled four economical overs for the vistors.
In reply the Stars overtook the required target in the last over. Ahsan was the main contributor with the bat for the Stars, hitting 37. McDowell and Singh took three wickets each in astrong bowling performace from Torry. Stars eventually won the game by two wickets.
In Match Two the Stars batted first and made 118 for 5. Nadeem was amongst the runs scoring 22 whilst Harris took three wickets for Torrevieja.
The hosts paced their run chase to perfection and evetually won by five wickets in the final over. Muller’s 49 was the main contribution to the hosts and Husnain had a fine spell of bowling that yielded three wickets for just seven runs.
