ALFAS MARCH ON
Sporting Alfas had another great win last weekend, this time seeing off Madrid United with consumate ease
Madrid United batted first and despite a good start (Wahid 47) and (Kashif 19) they were bowled out for 162 in 30.1 overs. Gary Crompton had another great day with the ball, taking 6 for 49, and he will be hoping for the opportunity to showoff his leg spin for Spain in the forthcoming ICC Europe Torneo in Belgium later this month.
Alfas lost Crompton and Shafique Ali in response to Madid´s total early on but Spencer (73 not out) continued his fine batting form to help see his side home. He was ably supported by Howe (52) as the Albir side ran out eventual winners by 7 wickets.
Another maximum points total sees Alfas well clear in League 1, whilst Madrid only received 3 points and they are finding playing in a higher league a much more tougher proposition than last season.
