ALFAS LOSE 100% LEAGUE RECORD
Sporting Alfas 1 lost their 100% league record last weekend to Valencia Green to come back to the pack in ECCL Division One
Valencia batted first and scored 229 off 39 overs. Former Alfas player Faran Afzal was the pick of the Green batsman scoring 91 against is previous team. Veteran Paul Taylor was the best of the Alfas bowlers snagging 3-38 off his 9 overs.
Alfas got off to the worse possible start with both openers Ali and Howe failing to score a run. They did get back into the game thanks to Gary Crompton (51) and Ben Fletcher (37) but it was too little too late nd the Albir based club were finally all out for 147 in 43 overs. Afzal rounded off a great match for himself personally by taking 3 for 30 off his allocated overs.
To add to Alfas`s misery they were deducted 2 points from their total for only having 10 players. The final points tally saw Valencia receive 19 points for their victory and Alfas gain 5 points for their tally.
