Sporting Alfas continued their domination in the ECCL Premier League by making it three wins from three by beating Alcorcon in a high scoring contest.
Batting first the team from Madrid were all out for 249.Tariq Ali continued his fine form and scored 86 and he was well supported by Qausar Ali who added 75. Not for the first time this season, the pick of the bowlers for Alfas was Paul Taylor who ended the innings with figures of 4-63 for the home side.
Alfas have a very strong batting line up these days and the overtook the Alcorcon score with five wickets and several overs to spare. Faran Afzal made 84 not out in a controlled effort to see his team to victory, whilst Alcorcon bowler Safdar ended up with an impressive 3-25 from his spell.
Maximum points again for Alfas, whilst Alcorcon took just six ponts from a game that they contributed hugely too. In the other premier league game taking place last weekend Madrid United beat Madrid, also by five wickets, at Sonseca. Madrid batted first and made 223 all out. United then reached their total with five wickets to spare.
As a consequence of these two results Madrid United have a slender three point lead over Sporting Alfas but have played three games more. Alcorcon and Madrid remain third and fourth respectively whilst Levante have yet to start their premier league campaign.
Sporting Alfas 250 for 5 beat Alcorcon 249 all out by five wickets.
