Alcorcon eased to victory over local rivals Madrid United at the Sonseca Cricket Ground last weekend in the latest ECCL Premier Division fixture.
Winning the toss Alcorcon elected to field and their bowling attack restricted Madrid United to 166 all out. Top scorers for Madrid were Wahid and Ashraf with 58 and 36 respectively.
Alcorcon overtook the Madrid United total with relative ease, mainly thanks to a scintillating innings from Tariq Ali. The Spanish international opened the batting for his side and from the first ball dominated the United bowling. He eventually scored 123 not out off just 43 balls.
Alcorcon did lose three wickets in the process of chasing down the required target but finished up with maximum ponts nonetheless. United took three points from the game for their efforts.
