Semi Final Review
Alfas, without several key players as a result of former chairman Phil Pennick’s wedding edged past Girona chasing down a total of 213 to win with three wickets to spare. The Alfas batsmen timed their innings to perfection to win the game in a nail biting finish. Requiring six off the last over they came home with two balls to spare.
Alcorcon from Madrid restricted the Cataluyna champions, City Lions of Barcelona to 223 for 9 but were unable to get close to that score as they collasped to 64 for 5 in just the 15th over.
The writing was on the wall and the Alcorcon innings soon ended with the Madrid side well short of the required target.
THIRD – FOURTH PLACE PLAY OFF
Alcorcon who play in the ECCL Divison One played Girona Warriors from the Cataluyna league as the two losing semi finalists for the third-fourth place play off.
In the game itself Alcorcon were way too strong for Girona Warriors as they won easily in a restricted 35 over game to gain a place on the podium.
