Sporting Alfas tasted league defeat for the first and last time this season as they lost their last game of the season to potential runners up Alcorcon CC
The visitors won the toss and inserted the home side into bat. Alfas were missing numerous key players from their title winning team and drafted in several second team players to experience top grade cricket.
However, without the spine of their team Alfas could only score 150 all out and failed to use 12 of the allocated overs. For Alcorcon Mazeer Abbas took three wickets, Whilst Tariq Ali, Salman and Akmal took two wickets apiece.
In reply Alcorcon knocked off the runs in 27 overs for the loss of just 5 wickets. The crowd witnessed a fantastic 43 from Spanish international Tariq Ali off just 14 balls, whilst Paul Taylor showed why he should continue playing for at least another season as he bowled nine overs for just 14 runs, with this spell including five maidens, and three of the five wickets to fall.
With the win Alcorcon have seemingly secured the runners up spot. 19 points to Alcorcon and 4 to Sporting Alfas.
