ALCORCON MAINTAIN 100% LEAGUE RECORD

Spectators saw a feast of runs at the Woodbridge Oval Sunday as Alcorcon and Tariq Ali again produced the goods to give the Madrid based team five wins out of five.

This by far proved to be the strongest match Alcorcon have had to date, as a strong Alfas side came close to upsetting the form book and registering a memorable victory.

Alfas batted first and scored the substantial total of 276 for 7 off their full quota of overs. Pennick continued his rich vein of form with a wonderful 145 and he was ably supported by Laundon (58) and Fletcher (36).

In reply, Alcorcon were again indebted to Tariq Ali, who scored his 4th century in 5 league games , and one of those was a double century. This time he scored 160 to lead his team home with 3 wickets to spare. The victory puts Alcorcon in virtually an unstoppable position at the top of the league and promotion to CB 1 next seasons seems a mere formality.
