Alcorcon extended their lead at the top of the ECCL Premier League with a comfortable victory over local rivals Madrid United.
Playing in Sonseca, Alcorcon batted first and accrued a total of 214 all out with Akmal top scoring with 44. Once again the league leaders failed to bat out all their overs which may prove a problem when the face up against stronger league opposition later on in the season. The bowling effort from Madrid United was reflected in Shah’s excellent five wicket haul.
In response, United’s batting struggled and they too were bowled out without using all their overs for just 132. The wickets were shared by the strong Alcorcon bowling attack and their 82 run victory extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division.
Alcorcon received 18 points whilst Madrid United secured 7 points.
