ALBOX 188 FOR 6 BEAT MOJACAR 186 FOR 7 BY 4 WICKETS
The Almeria derby lived up to expectations with a closely fought game between Albox and Mojacar. Once the same club, the two clubs split a few seasons ago and since then this game is always the first on the calendar that both sets of players look for.
Albox won the toss and put Mojacar into bat. Using their full 45 overs the away side posted a total of 186 for 7 on the slow La Manga outfield. The highlight of the innings was a well constructed 55 by Keith Rose.
Albox responded positively and they paced their innings to perfection despite the attempts of Stannard who took 2 for 24 off his 9 overs. The home side finally reached their target with 5.5 overs to spare to register the win and jump to second in the Costa League 2 table. The only blemish on the day for Albox was having 2 points deducted from their points total for refusing to provide a scorer.
