[Murcia, 4 June 2023] – Cricket España and the European Cricket Network (ECN) are delighted to announce the expansion of their partnership, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of cricket in Spain. This enhanced collaboration builds upon the successful joint endeavours that have already seen Cricket España host 18 remarkable events across 6 venues.
The partnership between Cricket España and the European Cricket Network has been instrumental in elevating the sport’s stature in Spain. These collaborative efforts have included hosting prestigious tournaments such as the inaugural European Cricket League, European Cricket Championship, and the groundbreaking European Cricket Series. Notably, 43 Spanish teams have had the opportunity to showcase their talent in ECN broadcasted cricket tournaments, with this number set to soar in the coming years.
The newly signed agreement between Cricket España and the European Cricket Network brings about an exciting expansion that will positively impact various aspects of cricket in Spain. Key highlights include the establishment of a Steering Committee dedicated to assisting Cricket España’s strategic plan, enhancing television production standards, and expanding exposure for the sport. Additionally, it will create ample opportunities for players, umpires, and support staff across all levels, further promoting domestic cricket.
