CRICKET CATALAN COUNTS ON INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT
The proposed construction of the first cricket ground in Catalonia is on a very good pace, last month Mr. Robert Masih Nahar, President of Catalonia Cricket Club and director of the Catalan cricket association, traveled to the India for various meetings with the most influential politicians in sports and other corporative sector and business tycoons for the benefit of cricket Catalan.
During the 15 days that lasted the trip, Mr. Robert Masih, has met with various representatives of various sporting bodies like Mr. Sharad Pawar, President of ICC (International Cricket Council), Mr. Rajiv Shukla, vice president of BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) and Chairman of the IPL (Indian Premier League), Mr. Anurag Singh Thakur, president of HPCA (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) and secretary of BCCI. Besides those already mentioned, has held several meetings with other politicians related to the world of sports, meetings of which is very pleased to have the support of representatives of institutions as important and influential sports in India.
Also very positive meetings with corporate sponsors to boost the construction of the cricket ground in Catalonia with their sponsorship, companies in the magnitude as Sahara India (co-owner of the only Indian Formula 1 team "Force India"), King Fisher Airlines (India airline classified as five stars) and Jindal Steels (the production company's most important steel India).
Impressive efforts being made by Mr. Masih to benefit the construction of the first cricket Catalan ground and necessary facilities to continue the development of a sport that in recent years has been gaining strength in Catalonia. This will help Catalonia cricket association to host further international tournaments in Catalonia, and many teams, clubs who are willing to come and play cricket at Barcelona and other parts of Spain will be benefited of these facilities
