MADRID FINISH LEAGUE ON A HIGH NOTE

20th October 2010

MADRID END ON A HIGH NOTE

Madrid finished their league campaign on a winning note, although the victory came in an unsatisfactory way as Valencia failed to appear for the match. As a result Madrid were awarded 17 points and Valencia minus 10.

On a more positive note for Madrid, their 4th place in the CB 1 league was enough to secure them a place in the league playoffs, after Combined Colleges withdrew from the final phase, citing financial problems as the reason. Sporting Alfas were offered a play off spot, having finished in 3rd place in the CB 1 league but they had previous commitments due to a touring side visiting the Woodbridge Oval the weekend of the finals.

The play offs will take place the 30th and 31st of October at La Manga and will be contested between the following teams.

Saturday 30th October

Ali v Cordoba

La Manga v Cataluyna

Sunday 31st October

Valencia Green v Madrid

The three winning teams and  the best runners up will contest finals day in mid November, also at La Manga.
