Madrid Cricket Club have confirmed 7 teams for their 3rd Annual charity event at La Manga in April. This years promises to be the strongest one yet with teams from Holland, Estonia, United Kingdom, Norway and Spai confirming their participation in the tournament. An eighth team is yet to be confirmed but will be announced shortly.

Pre tournamnt favourites will undoubtedly be the Dutch National and current Twenty20 champions Excelsior 20  CC. They are hoping to have available their new player coach, Ed Cowan, an opening batsmen for Ricky Pontings team the Tasmania Tigers in the Sheffield Shield. Cowan, formerly a player with New South Wales, could also be joined by South African David Sandmann, and three Dutch Internationals, including Luuk Van Troost, Sep Gokke and Daan Van Bunge. Van Bunge was part of the victorious Dutch side that beat England at Lords in 2009 Twenty20 World Cup.

Estonia CC have numerous players who took part in the ICC Europe Division 5 tournament in Corfu last year, in which the Estonians finished sixth out of a possible six teams. Last years third team place Milton Keynes CC will be hoping to go one step further this year, and Norwegian newcomers Baerum will be the darkhorses of the competition, and could quite posibly spring a suprise or two.

Bushey CC from Hertfordshire, and West Norfolk CC complete the English compliment of teams and the hosts Madrid will be hoping for a better showing than in last years competition when they finished a dissapointing sixth from eight  teams.

Ron Graham has been appointed the tournament referee for the third consecutive season and Jonathan Woodward will again co-ordinate the whole event from start to finish. Anyone requiring further information on the tournament can contact Jon on
