Great news for cricket here in Lanzarote following a brief yet highly successful meeting between Jack Talbot and the Director of Sport for the Ayuntamiento of Tias.
The LCA has been granted permission to build and locate cricket nets at the ground in Puerto del Carmen; a tremendous step forward for cricket here on the Island and fundamental to our Youth Development Policy.
Plans have been drawn up for the construction of 3 nets to be completed as soon as possible - hopefully by the end of February, making the most of our cricket development funding through Cricket Espana. This is obviously fantastic news for all involved and is a sign of the growing support the LCA is receiving from the Ayuntamiento of Tias.
Regional Captains Appointed for the F15
With just three weeks to go to the start of the F15 Regional Championship the first step of the selection process has been completed when the four captains were chosen to lead their respective areas.
Pre-tournament joint favourites, the North will be led by Craig Trapps with the other favourites the Rest of the World being captained by Frankie Khrishlani. The dark horses to walk away with the title are the Midlands and Geoff Dean has been given the job of organising them, while Jamie Rogerson will have a tough job to do with the tournament outsiders the South.
Each Captain has recieved the list of players available for selection and will shortly be in touch with their final decisions. It must be pointed out that there are three matches to be played in total with the top two playing off in the final, so it is hoped that everyone who has put their name forward to play should be involved at some point during the tournament.
