The 2007 Balearic Cup will take place between 4th-6th May this year, with Menorca playing host. This annual event looks to be very competitive with all three teams fielding strong teams.

Ibiza the hosts last year are looking to win the tournament for the first time sinc 1990 whilst current holders Mallorca will be looking to repeat their winning performances of 2005 and 2006.

Last year saw Mallorca narrowly beat Ibiza by 15 runs, and then on the second day Mallorca guaranteed the Cup went back to their island with a 4 wicket victory over Menorca, knocking off the 152 required for victory in the 38th over with 4 wickets to spare.

The final game between Menorca and Ibiza was reduced to 35 overs a side instead of the usual 40 overs and was probrably the most entertaining game of the three.Ibiza batting first posted a very healthy 247 for 3 which including a 170 opening partnership between Spanish international Adam Johnson and Bob Short.Menorca, looking to avoid the wooden spoon batted aggressively and quickly and produced a very timely response to snatch victory in the final over with the last pair at the wicket.

With all three teams feeling quitely confident about victory,it seems difficult to predict which island will have the bragging rights for 2007.Cricket España will follow the tournament so be sure to come back to the site and check the results and  scores.
