DIVISION ONE T-TWENTY UPDATE

With four matches played in this years Division One T-Twenty event Levante and Madrid CC are the early league leaders.

Levante stunned last seasons winners Pinatar, with two consecutive victories in La Manga earlier this month.

In match one Pinatar batted first and posted a competitive total of 182 for 5 from their over allocation. Paul Hennessy top scored with 80 for the hosts, whilst Sami took two for 17 for the visitors. In response Levante overtook the total with six wickets remaining. Tariq and Sandeep both scored half centuries for the Valencia based club.

Ironically, in match two Pinatar again batted first and again posted a total of 182 for five with Jassi Singh hitting 44 not out. Once again the Levante batting surpassed the total, with Tariq again amongst the runs, scoring 68 this time.

Madrid and La MangaTorrevieja entered the competition next with the team from the capital edging both matches.  Madrid won the first match by 45 runs. Batting first the visitors notched up a total of 132 for four. In response La Manga managed to score 87 for 7 with Saifullah taking three for ten.

Match Two saw La Manga bat first and put on a total of 109 for 7 with skipper Keiron Wood top scoring on 34 runs. In response, Madrid were indebted to a fine unbeaten half century by Nicolau who steered is club to a seven wicket victory.

Sporting Alfas and Madrid United have yet to start this season´s campaign.
