Before Xmas Levante Cricket Club received an email from the Red Cross enquiring about Cricket in Valencia and if some of their Asylum Seekers could participate in practice and games. This week the club finally managed to meet up with them and we have decided to try and extend a helping hand in solidarity. Hopefully this year we will be organising some events and fundraisers for a worthy cause, to help out the Red Cross in any way we can.

In return for our efforts the Red Cross will co-ordinate with their numerous Social Media channels and the local press to help raise our profile in the Valencian Community, obviously this will improve our standing with the Local Council, with Cricket España and the ICC, and hopefully lead to securing a long term sponsor and ground.

Red Cross have free access to municipal facilities and Levante are looking at running some clinics on a weekday morning in the weeks of April at the VCG, this will enable the club to establish an ongoing collaboration with the charity and will also provide a couple of hours of daytime nets for those who can attend and help out with the sessions.

As always, many hands make light work and we hope our members can find some time to help those in need.
