Triskell Taverners upset the form book and had one of their best cricketing days to date with a comprehensive nine wicket victory over arch rivals Madrid II in the Madrid Regional League last weekend.
Madrid II batted first on the unpredictable Sonseca pitch and were skittled out for a paltry 98 runs in just under 25 overs. It would have been a lot worse for Madrid if it had not been for the 59 runs scored by Sumon. Tony Fitzgerald was the pick of the Triskell bowlers bagging four wickets for just 36 runs.
In reply, Triskell were always in complete complain, chiefly due to a fantastic 68 not out from opener Joe Churnin. The Taverners eventually surpassed their required total in the 18th over for the loss of just one wicket.
Congratulations to the Taverners who collected maximum points from the game, whilst Madrid took away just one point from the contest.
