Cataluyna Cricket Association received an official presentation at the Museum Colet of Barcelona yesterday. The act, organised by the Catalan Federation of Cricket, began with some words of the president of the federation, Mr. Khalid Shabaz Akhtar, in which he highlighted a recent tour of Malta in which a team from Cataluyna played three games against Marsa CC at the prestigious Marsa Sports Club. 

Later Mr. Robert Masih Nahar, the vice-president of the federation, explained that a major effort was being made to promote the sport in local schools through the different workshops that are being organised to encourage participation in the sport from the youngsters.

Robert Masih also thanked Khurram Shehzad, and Goldy Jaswal and Srta. Marta Marzal, for their collaboration in the edition of the Basic Guide of Cricket, which is being donated to the different schools along with practice kit donated by Cricket Espana.

Later he congratulated the touring team of Malta who went undefeated in three games, Mr. Muhammad Adnan Qureshi (selector) and the manager of the federation, Mr. Muhammad Adnan Malik, and the thirteen players of the Catalan selection: Nisar Ahmed (captain), Tahseen Kasim (vice-captain), Tanveer Iqbal, Mirza Basharat Aziz, Muhammad Armghan Khan, Ateeq Ur Rehman, Ammar Shakoor, Saghar Shahbaz, Mukhtiar Singh, Zulqarnain Haider, Kulwant Singh, Mohsin Khan and Muhammad Asif Zia. 


Finalising the presentation, Mr. Ivan Tibau delivered the practice kits and basic cricket guide to the representatives of different schools. Mr. Tibau alsp presented a copy of the cricket guide to guests of honour Mr. Jordi Camps, Mayor of Vidreres, Mr. Sergi Blazquez, director of the Platforma Proseleccions Esportivas Catalanas, Mr.Xavier Bosch the director general for the immigration of the government of Catalonia, Mr. Muhammad Aslam Ghori, vice-consul of Pakistan in Barcelona, Mr. Miquel Esteve, commissioner of immigration of the city council of Barcelona and Mr. Àngel Colom, director of the New Catalans Foundation of Catalonia.
