Levante Cricket Club held their Christmas party recently at Cambridge House School and in the process raised over 1500 euros and fostered relations with the local community.
The whole day was a great success with all the children receiving a goodie bag and everyone having their picture taken in a Levante Cricket Club frame.
There were between 100-120 people with a good Spanish contingent and several of the HND students at the school helped in the kitchen and took care of the disco after the meal.
An auction raised nearly 300 euros with just 4 items – a signed Borussia Mochengladbach shirt obtained when the club played Villarreal in the Europa League raised 60 euros, a Catamaran lesson for the day notched up 30 euros and then a bidding war took place when head chef David Tivey offered a home master class has a prize. In the end Dave agreed to do two different ones that fetched 100 euros each.two members it has raised over 1200 euros at the minute and I think there is still more to come in.
After lunch the part goers enjoyed a disco and kwik cricket in the school’s playground. Many thanks to Cambridge House College who gave their facilities for free and St Patricks Pub in the heart of Valencia who donated ove 200 glasses and numerous amounts of liquor.
Lastly thanks to all the Levante Club members who helped organise such a great day out, and a final mention to Dave Tivey, who masterminded the whole event and worked tirelessly with the HND students,(who received academic credits for their efforts) to ensure such a successful day.
