FAROKH ENGINEER AT LA MANGA CHARITY TOURNAMENT
It is with great pleasure that Madrid CC can announce that the former professional Farokh Engineer will be at La Manga supporting the Twenty20 tournament next week.
Farokh’s cricket career began in 1961 through to 1975, during which time he was India ’s first choice wicket keeper playing in 46 tests as well as playing for Mumbai and Lancashire . He was also a very stylish and aggressive batsman and currently umpires in the IPL. His presence at our tournament is very exciting and a very welcome last minute addition.
He will also be bringing a cricket bat that has been signed by the likes of Freddie Flintoff, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and the footballer Pele that will be auctioned off for charity.
Whether you are playing in the tournament or not you are welcome to book a place on one of the coaching sessions. You can book your place via email on firstname.lastname@example.org or calling Jon Woodward on +34 655069911. The sessions cost 20€ per person with all of the proceeds going towards Farokh’s charity for homeless children in Mumbai and the tournament fund raising effort.
Please let all of your players know about the sessions and book your place as soon as possible. The sessions will start in the morning on Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th and Monday 27th of April and will continue until around 12/12.30.
